Pauline Banawai

“My name is Pauline and I am from West Africa (Togo). I came here in 2012. When I was leaving my home country I was really sad about leaving, but I understand that I had to live with my family and make the best out of my education.  I have been here two years now and I like to dance. It is one of my hobbies.

For my future I really want to achieve my goal of being a dermatologist because I want to be able to help my family out and also help people in my community.  I like City Links program because they have been helping me already in many ways such as finding me a job, and also helping me find a tutor which I need right now.”

Mon, City Links 2014-2015

Mon Tiwari 2“When I first came to this country its was
hard. I didn’t speak English which mean
that I couldn’t communicate with people.
The culture was so different, the food was
so different. I feel proud of the fact that I
came to this country all my self and wasn’t
living with my own family.

I have been in City Links for 3 years now. I
have learned so many things. Most of all I have met people like Sandra who is a role model to me. Sandra also came from El Salvador to United States by herself. Now she is in the Citylink helping kid like us who are from different countires to make them strong person in a new conutry.

In the future I would like to become an actress. I want to become an actress because in that way I will have enough money to help people not only in my country but also in other countries. My message is that if one group of people stops judging others and helps the one who need help, I am sure the whole world will do the same. Remember that we all are human beings and helping others would make you a better person.”
